Some paintings get better with time. I thought this painting was never “finished”. Now, a perfect picture describing my life in 2005. I see two little girls, Alzheimer’s, an old dog, a new puppy, Allen cooking pumpkins in our little house, and the absolute beauty of a life in an unfinished painting. We no longer live in this 900 square foot California dream house we rented for 12 years and it’s about to get torn down. Allen is still roasting pumpkins, Sunny is in Paris this Thanksgiving, the dogs have been re-paved with terriers and I am grateful I made this painting. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

30” x 40” Oil on canvas, 2009
